Big Jake was declared the largest horse in the world on January 19, 2010, with a height of 2 meters and 10 cm at the withers. The official measurement was made at Smokey Hollow Farms in Poynette , Wisconsin , USA, thus setting a new Guinness World Record. Its owner, Jerry Gilbert , who lives in Ostego in the USA, says that as a foal it already weighed 109kg at birth and has now reached the remarkable weight of 1180kg !! The huge Big Jake eats a bale and a half of hay a day and rests in a box of more than 6 meters by 6.
