A beautiful adventure from Lake Beysehir to the Mediterranean coast. We will cross the Taurus mountains from north to south, starting from the Anatolia region, an itinerary full of twists and turns, with ever-changing landscapes: coniferous forests, expanses of shrubs, rocky valleys, green pastures and coasts with golden sand. Let’s not forget the magnificent Köprülü canyon which gives its name to the homonymous National Park and Selge, a historic site with incredible rock formations and Roman ruins nestled in the mountains! Despite the mountainous terrain, there will be unforgettable gallops as well as impervious passages where you will have to lead your horse by hand. An experience suitable for upper intermediate riders who want to enjoy beautiful landscapes without neglecting a bit of rhythm in the saddle.

Arrival at Konya airport by h. 19.00, pick-up and transfer to your hotel on the shores of Beysehir Lake, at the gateway to the National Park. Dinner with your guide and overnight.
After having breakfast, assignment of the horses and all on the saddle for a "quick" morning, long gallops along the sandy shores of the lake will take us in the afternoon, after a stop for lunch, to the river delta, characterized by marshy terrain inhabited by a myriad of birds. We will then pass through a typical village and continue until the canyon path forces us to bend towards an oak forest. Here we will find our camp set up for the night.
Today we will use a wide path used in ancient times to carry out transhumance up to the pastures at the base of the Taurus mountains. We will spend about half an hour in very rocky terrain that will force us to slow down, but we will then arrive in the dry riverbed where we can gallop. Lunch along the way and in the afternoon we will reach the camp set up in a large grassy pasture.
On the saddle through ever-changing landscapes, the morning will require some walking sections due to the rocks; then we will cross a typical village built on terraces and stop for lunch near some Roman tombs. An afternoon of enthusiasm for those who love to gallop, 9 km of sandy track that runs along the river until you reach a guest house where we will spend the night.
After having a delicious homemade breakfast ,we will leave the river behind to take a mule track overlooking the Köprülü canyon. After crossing a small bridge we will arrive at a small village where we will stop for lunch. We then arrived in Selge, a mythical crater formed by the fall of a meteorite. Overnight in a tented camp.
We leave Selge today via a track in the forest until we reach one of the most beautiful points of this trek: a passage carved into the mountain. Picnic lunch before tackling a challenging afternoon for horses and riders that will end with reaching a remote pasture that can only be reached on foot or on horseback after about an hour of rough and rocky terrain. Dinner and overnight in a tented camp.
We will return this morning to the valley via a wide path that winds its way through various rock formations, pine forests and shrubs. After a stop for lunch, the afternoon will become more lively with several gallops through the cultivated fields. We will then say goodbye to the horses in the afternoon and by car we will return to the hotel for the last night.

ACCOMMODATION:
Night 1 and 7 at a hotel near Beysehir Lake with private bathroom.
Night 2, 3, 5 and 6 in the tented camp. You will get there on horseback and you will be immersed in nature. Common tent for meals and small Canadian tents (single or double) for sleeping. Mattresses are provided but bring your own sleeping bag, towel and flashlight. A shower curtain with bucket and gas is available to heat the water; there are no services.
4 night at Erdinc’s Guest House, small family run establishment
Full board: breakfast, picnic lunches and dinner of Turkish specialties which is eaten, as per tradition, sitting on the floor from a shared tray. Including tea, coffee and water (wine, beer and drinks for a fee).
On request it is possible to have menus for vegetarians.

ACCOMMODATION: hotel + tented camp
EQUIPMENT: MC LELLAN TREKKING SADDLE, light and comfortable, with pockets to carry the essentials of the day on the saddle
HORSES: ARABS and ANGLO-ARABS mostly females. Well trained, lively and obedient; accustomed to the proposed routes and terrains. They are awarded according to the equestrian level and weight of the rider.
GAIT: FROM 5 TO 6 H PER DAY ON THE SADDLE (between 25 and 40 km per day). The main gait is the step but there will be an opportunity to trot and gallop. It requires the ability to know how to control the horse in open spaces and a good physical condition. Participants must be able to get on and off their horses independently. It may happen that you have to lead the horse by hand to facilitate it on complex terrain. You are required to saddle / unslate your horse.
