Arusha National Park 2021
Although not very extensive, Arusha National Park offers a wide variety of flora and fauna in a pleasant setting. Located 25 km from the city of Arusha and only 35 km from Kilimanjaro airport, it allows you to enjoy a short horseback safari and then continue to other parks. It belongs to a group of parks known as the “Northern Safari Circuit”, which also includes Lake Manyara National Park, Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Nature Reserve. The name “Arusha” comes from Warusha, the name of the local people of the region.
Departure dates on request all year round with a minimum of 2 participants except for the months of April and May.

Pick-up at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transfer of about 40 minutes to the farm at the foot of Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak and starting point of our tour, where the 358 acre farm is located , immersed in the luxuriant vegetation. Depending on the arrival time of your flight, you will have time for a short safari (relaxation for non-riders) in the surrounding area to familiarize yourself with the horses. In the farm land, in addition to being inhabited by horses and cattle, it shelters several other species such as monkeys, baboons, various antelopes, warthogs, jackals and porcupines. Return for an aperitif at sunset. Dinner and overnight at the farm with safari briefs for the following days.
After breakfast, transfer to the real interior of the Arusha National Park where we will get on the saddle and go into dense forests where we will spot zebras, giraffes and antelopes. Picnic lunch and back in the saddle towards Mount Meru, where our mobile comfort camp awaits us for the night.
Wake up very early and ride in the territories inhabited by mammoth buffaloes. Return to the camp for lunch and in the afternoon, spend the hottest hours, all by jeep to reach Lake Momella where we will enjoy the spectacle of a myriad of pink flamingos. With a little luck we will also spot other various species drinking. In the late afternoon we will get back on the saddle for the viewpoint known as “Fig Tree Arch”. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Very early breakfast and last horseback safari to the farm, where we will say goodbye to the horses. Transfer to the airport in time for your flight to Italy or to continue your vacation (ask for your personalized quote).
