England: Dartmoor National Park 2021
Wild moors, deep river valleys, stone circles… .this is the mystical Dartmoor National Park. An ancient landscape, where traces of prehistoric human activity are evident. Exploring Dartmoor on horseback allows you a long way to go while still having enough time to enjoy the scenery around you. You can choose an itinerant route or the comfort of staying in one place for the whole week and covering different slopes every day. Transfer from Exeter airport and small information meeting upon arrival at the facility. Free dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Breakfast and short transfer to the equestrian center. Assignment of horses and a quiet day dedicated to getting to know your horse. Packed lunch consumed in the English countryside and return in the late afternoon. Free dinner and an overnight stay in hotel.
In the next few days the typical day will be: breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the stables at around 10.00 am. We will explore a different section of the beautiful Dartmoor National Park every day. Packed lunches in nature and you will not miss the opportunity to stop in some local pub for a drink. Return to the stables in time for an afternoon cup of tea and transfer to your hotel around 6pm. Dinners will always be free and overnight at the hotel.
Breakfast and transfer to the airport in time for your flight to Italy.

EQUIPMENT: WESTERN SADDLE (or on English request with some Irish horses)
HORSES: QUARTER HORSES, superbly trained, docile but tireless. IRISH HORSES
GAIT: 4 TO 6 HOURS PER DAY ONTHE SADDLE. We will cover about 25/30 km a day, mainly at a pace or trot, even if there will be the possibility of galloping. We ask for the familiarity of knowing how to control the horse in open spaces, being able to saddle and unslate. The terrain is varied with climbs, descents and some fords.
MINIMUM AGE : 14 years

ACCOMMODATION:
In the 6 night option all nights will be at The Caste Inn Lidford (or similar) hotel.
16th century mansion on the edge of Sartmoor National Park. It offers its guests 8 refined bedrooms equipped with flat screen TV, hairdryer, tea or coffee maker, wi-fi; restaurant and pub.
It is also possible to stay in bungalows at the stables with use of the lodge’s kitchen.
In the semi-itinerant option of 7 nights the overnight stays will be as follows:
– nights 1 and 2: Caste Inn Lydford
– night 3: Two Bridges Hotel
– night 4 and 5: Dockwell Farm
– night 6: Three Crowns Inn
– night 7: Caste Inn Lydford
