From the beautiful and enigmatic Petra to the Wadi Rum desert. A horseback riding itinerary in Jordan that will take you on a journey of discovery of unparalleled scenic beauty.
Visit Petra, an astonishing archaeological site declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Today, it is one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and its many facades carved into the rock leave anyone who comes in its presence speechless. The city was abandoned in the 8th century due to the decline of trade, but was inhabited until recent years by Bedouin families and only gained historical interest in the last century.
It rides through the Wadi Rum desert, considered among the most beautiful in the world for its variety of colours and landscapes. Known as the Valley of the Moon, it is a valley carved out, over thousands of years, by the flow of a river through sandy soil and granite rock. Declared a UNESCO heritage site, it is famous for being the desert of Lawrence of Arabia, the famous archaeologist and writer. His book ‘The Seven Pillars of Wisdom’ gave its name to one of the most characteristic rock formations of this desert.
An ideal itinerary for lovers of wide open spaces, silence and freedom, and for those who are able to cope with several hours in the saddle at even sustained speeds.
Immerse yourself in an ever-changing landscape: from the cultivated fields surrounding Petra to the surrounding mountains and the vastness of the Wadi Rum desert.
Go Horse, the itinerary and horseback riding specialist, takes you to discover the red mountains of Wadi Rum in the saddle of your faithful companion. Ride through canyons, sandy expanses, Bedouin villages and discover beautiful Petra!
