The most incredible adventure you can do on the saddle in the Andes in the north of Patagonia. You will feel the only inhabitants of this planet, no sign of civilization, only the snow-capped peaks of the Andean volcanoes, lakes hidden in the mountains, and the boundless pampas. An experience to do at least once in a lifetime… .you will learn to love the small and strong Creole horse, life partner of the gauchos.

Pick-up at Temuco International Airport, La Araucania (ZCO) for h. 15.00 or from Pucon airport for h. 13.00 and transfer to the farm, room assignment and knowledge with the horses. Dinner and overnight.
We will begin this adventure through the territories of the Indian community, following the rapids of the Trancura River. Day dedicated to familiarizing yourself with your horse and equipment. In the evening we will arrive at the camp at the Geppinger Lagoon for dinner and overnight.
We will ride through dense rainforest, Coighue and bamboo trees, crystal clear mountain lakes and rocky stretches. In the evening a tented camp will be set up near lakes or rivers, following the trail that leads to the Huerquehue National Park, the Villarrica Forest and the Mapuche communities of Reigolil and Icalma.
We will reconnect with civilization, passing through some settlements of Icalma. Dinner and overnight in the camp on the lake shore.
Handling of customs formalities at the Chilean border and continue towards the top of the mountains, where we will cross the real border of entry into Argentina. Here we will say goodbye to our guides and horses to meet our new travel companions a few meters ahead who will accompany us for the next three days through the beautiful Argentine Andes.
We will ride through unexplored valleys, where we will meet only a few shepherds with their goats and condors circling in the sky. On the evening of day 8 we will reach an outpost, where our guide lives. We will celebrate the end of our journey with a barbecue.
Transfer and arrival in Pucón or Temuco airport around 12:30 pm (plan a flight not earlier than 3 pm), where we will retrieve the luggage left behind. Upon request, there is the possibility to stop in Argentina and continue your stay.

ACCOMMODATION: cottage + tented camp
EQUIPMENT: CREAOLA SADDLE, typical Chilean, is called Avios. Made specifically for long journeys, it is covered with a comfortable wool padding.
HORSES: CRIOLLO, very robust and suitable for mountainous terrain
GAIT: 6 to 9 hours per day in the saddle. Moderate speed also due to the pack horses, with mostly mountainous terrain across the Andes; it may be necessary in some places to have to lead the horse by hand. A good physical condition is required to endure the long days in the saddle. In the Argentine pampas there will be the possibility of galloping.

TYPE : itinerant with overnight stays in a tented camp / lodge
ACCOMMODATION:
7 nights in a tented camp and 2 nights in a cottage. On the evening of day 5 there will be showers available, otherwise you will have to cool off in the river or lake.
The tents are comfortable and of first quality- from the the brand “The North Face” and “Salewa Denali”-light and not bulky for couples or singles. The sleeping bags are warm and suitable for maintaining heat even in sub-zero temperatures. They are washed after each use and replaced every year. The tented camps are set up at the Rio Blanco spring, Icalma lake.
Meals are traditional Chilean and Argentine cuisine, accompanied by good local wine. Vegetarian dishes can be prepared on request.
Note: The itinerary described above is to be considered indicative. It may be subject to variations due to weather conditions or circumstances beyond our control. In the departure of 15/03 a day will be added to the Sollipulli volcano.
