Menorca: The pearl of the Mediterranean 2021
Menorca is the wildest of the Balearic Islands, declared a World Biosphere Reserve in 1993, offering its visitors 179 km of coastal paths. This trip will allow you to get to know this beautiful island, pine forests, hidden coves and crystal clear waters, all on the saddle of splendid Menorcan horses.

Flight to Menorca airport. Reception at the airport by our driver and transfer to your Hotel de Ciutatella Sant Ignasi (or similar). Welcome dinner with presentation of the itinerary and overnight stay.
Breakfast and assignment of horses at the San Adeodato stud farm where we will learn more about the characteristics of the Menorcan horse. On the saddle for a first exploration of the surrounding area: the prehistoric village of Sant Agustí. Lunch at a local restaurant on the beach and in the afternoon continue to Cami de Cavalls, Barranc de Son Fideu, and the most famous cave in Menorca, Sa Cova d’es Coloms, also called "The Cathedral". Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Meeting at the stables of the rural hotel Binigaus Vell. Today we will explore the main gorges of the island: Algendar, Trebalúger and Albranca. We will also pass by the wild beaches of Escorxada, Fustam and Trebalúger to arrive in Cala Mitjana in time for lunch. Then return to the stables via the Camí de Cavalls routes. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day dedicated to the exploration of the S'Albufera d'Es Grau Nature Reserve, passing through Tamarells Cove, Sa Torreta creek, Arenal de Morella, several lookout towers that were used to spot enemies and the Favàritx lighthouse, one of the seven of the island. Here we will stop for a picnic lunch. Today you can observe a very interesting landscape from a naturalistic point of view, with its many endemic plants, especially in the marshy area of Port of Addaia. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Free day dedicated to relaxation. On request it is possible to organize various excursions (for a fee). Free lunch. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
We're going to the north coast today, the wildest and most beautiful. We will start from Binimel beach, passing over some sand dunes we will arrive at Cala Pregonda, with a truly unique landscape. We will skirt the Marine Reserve, created in 1999, with an area of 5,199 hectares of sea. Following the rocky coast we will arrive at Ets Alocs, where we will stop for lunch and a bit of relaxation. Resuming, we will pass by Cala Pilar and Arenal d’Alfurí, with a large concentration of flowers. Then again Es Pla de Mar and Sa Muntanya Mala, ending at the beach of Algaiarens, an arid territory where the vegetation has got used to the Tramontana wind. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Last day on the saddle, we will ride along Camí de Cavalls heading east, crossing a territory characterized by steep gorges. After passing the town of Sant Tomàs we will go in the direction of Son Bou, visiting the Sa Vall gorge. At the end of Son Bou beach, the longest on the island, we will arrive at a Christian basilica dating back to 400 BC. Returning home we will pass by Sant Tomàs and San Adeodato, and the day will end with a lesson in “Menorcan dressage” with his only figure, the “bot”. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
After having breakfast, transfer to the airport in time for your flight to Italy.

EQUIPMENT: MENORCIAN SADDLE
HORSES: MENORCHINO, endemic horse of the island for centuries, recognized as a breed only in the 18th century. It is an animal with a black coat, very elegant and harmonious, with a docile and meek character.
GAIT: 5 H PER DAY ON THE SADDLE APPROX. We proceed to the three gaits. The ability to control one’s horse in open spaces is required.

Overnight in a quiet rural hotel, 1 km from the beautiful village of Es Migjorn Gran and 3 km from the beach of Binigaus and Saint Tomas. It offers 20 comfortable rooms furnished in local style and equipped with every comfort: TV, telephone, Internet, safe. There is a salt water swimming pool and a romantic restaurant with typical island specialties. Some wines per meal are included.
