Ride in the jungle of the Maya
Locked between Mexico, Guatemala and the shiny Carebbean Sea, there is Belize and a trip in this Country, away from ordinary touristic destinations, could be a very interesting experience. Come to discover the jungle in West Belize, riding into the hearty vegetation, you will find out hidden caves and waterfalls. This offer is a perfect mix of culture, adventure and total immersion in nature. You will be surprised seeing so many toucans, colorful parrots, noisy monkeys and maybe you could see shy pumas and jaguars. You will visit the fascinating ruins of Maya civilisation, like the famous archeological site of Caracol (shell, in spanish language), a site already inhabited in 1200 b.C. and surrounded by Chiquibul National Park. We are offering you an adventure trip with the comfort of beautiful local facilities, you will spend the night immersed into the jungle, in tastefully decorated rooms. You will remember forever the noisy sound of nature around you, the smells and the colours of Maya’s Jungle!

Pick-up from the International Belize Airport (BZE), visit to the city zoo (if the time scheduled of your flight allows it) and then approximately 2 and a half hours transfert to arrive at cabanas. Dinner and overnight stay.
Breakfast, presentation of horses and week's programme, and then departure for a full's day of horseback riding at Pine Ridge Reserve and Big Rock Falls. Here, we will observe various ecosystems, crossing different terrains and watching interesting plants on river forest. Break for lunch and then relax, enjoying a cool dip under the falls. Comeback to Barton Creek for dinner and overnight.
Saddle-day dedicated to visit the caves, crossing by graceful villages like Siete Millas or El Progreso, where communities from El Salvador and Guatemala live. Once at the river, we will take kayaks to visit from the inside these beautiful caves full of stalactities. Lunch and free time for a dip and a little bit of relaxation before returning to Barton Creek for dinner and overnight.
Half day riding in saddle through the hearty flora and fauna, before the lunch break in a local wine cellar and then, by public transport, we will go to visit the famous ruins of Cahal Pech and to do some shopping at Saint Ignacio, lively town where we will see the convergence of two rivers, Mopan and Macal, entering in Belize River. Return to Barton Creek for dinner and overnight.
Day riding in the saddle to discover Swallow Cave, an ancient Maya cave, where we could taste the ancient culture, thank also to some present remains. Lunch and relaxing dip at the Butterfly falls. Comeback tom Barton Creek for dinner and overnight.
Early wake up and departure to the beautiful Caracol ruins, into Chiquibul Forest, where, thanks to an expert guide, we will explore the site and we will climb on the highest Maya ruin in Belize, accompained by the hearty flora and fauna. after lunch, quick break at Macal River or On River for a cool dip. Comeback to Barton Creek for dinner and overnight.
Half day riding to visit Pacbitun's ruins, break for lunch with a view over Belize River and over Maya cities of Cahal Pech and Xunantunich. Return in the early afternoon, in time for some relaxiation. Dinner and overnight.

Accomodation: Graceful Woody Cabanas, decorated with the typical local style, enriched with putty and tapestries hand-made and with a beautiful view over the valley. There is no electricity in the rooms, but just romantic oil lamps. The electricity is available in common spaces. Tasty cooking with typical local products.

Horses: Spanish Quarter Horses and crossbreed
Stride: 5-6 hours every day riding. The stride depends on the equestrian level of the group. Le andature saranno in relazione al livello equestre dei partecipanti del gruppo. You mostly proceed with a mountain pace, but the possibily to gallop won’t miss. It requires good physical conditions and the skill to control the horse in open spaces.
