The beautiful and romantic city of Udaipur was founded in 1567, known as "the Venice of the East" lies between lakes Pichola and Fateh Sagar. Countless poets, writers and painters have been inspired by its splendor. We will discover, together with the descendants of the royal family, who will guide us on this tour, the beauty of this region and its noble warrior horses, the Marwari.

Pick up from the airport and transfer to the hotel in Udaipur (expect an arrival in the morning). In the afternoon boat tour on Lake Pichola to enjoy the sunset.
Breakfast and transfer to the stables which are about 8 km from the city center. Walk for a couple of hours in the surroundings or alternatively lesson to better master the commands of the local riding. Return to the hotel for lunch and free afternoon to visit the city: the Palace and the bazaar.
After breakfast, transfer to the stables and departure for a 4-hour tour of the Aravalli mountains. Lunch at the stables and afternoon dedicated to a more detailed visit of the city.
Full day excursion by public transport to the areas of Kumbhalgarth and Ranakpur, the two most beautiful sites in the Rajasthan region. Scenic road through the Aravalli mountains, visit the famous fort located on one of the highest elevations of the mountain range. We will then descend into the valley, seeing an ancient Persian water system still in use today. Arrive in Ranakpur for lunch, and in the afternoon visit its beautiful marble temple. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.
Full day dedicated to horses, trekking through the beautiful Aravalli mountains where we will cross small villages of the Bhil tribes. We will pass through rivers, lakes and valleys. Picnic lunch and return to the hotel in the afternoon.
Transfer to visit the ancient temples of Nagda and Eklingji about 20 km from Udaipur, where it will be very interesting to observe the ceremonies in progress. Return to the hotel for lunch and in the afternoon everyone on the saddle to enjoy a ride at sunset.
Day on horseback to discover the Jaisamand Wildlife Sanctuary. Last farewell dinner at the stables and overnight at the hotel.

EQUIPMENT: ENGLISH SADDLE (although the controls they are used to are a little different)
HORSES: MARWARI, a local breed formerly trained for war. It was brought to India by the Muslim invaders and raised in desert areas. Horse of medium size, very elegant with characteristic ears with the tip inside. The horse in India is considered a divine animal and still today the population respects them and has an ancestral link with them.
GAIT: 2 TO 5 HOURS PER DAY IN THE SADDLE. Moderate gaits with short trots and gallops.
TYPE : Equestrian stay with overnight stays in hotel
5 nights in a mid-range hotel in the historic district of Udaipur, just a few minutes' walk from the Palace and the Bazaar. Traditional wooden furniture, TV, air conditioning and fan. (Possibility of upgrade by staying directly at the Palazzo, for a once in a lifetime experience).
For those who extend the trip, 2 nights during the safari in a tented camp. Single or double tents, very comfortable. The camp, which recalls the traditional war camps, offers services, showers and towels. Shaded outdoor area for meals offering traditional cuisine.
Note: The itinerary described above is to be considered indicative. It may be subject to variations due to weather conditions or circumstances beyond our control. It is possible to introduce a 2-day horseback safari experience during the week. For those suffering from the heat we recommend avoiding the months of May and June.
