Safari in the Okavango Delta 2021
A unique ecosystem in the world, the second largest internal delta on our planet, secod only to the one in Niger. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, every year it pours 11 cubic kilometers of water into the Kalahari, creating an alluvial plain full of islands, lagoons and canals. Thus was born life in the desert, a breathtaking spectacle, an ever-changing landscape that changes with the seasons. Riding in the marshes or floating on a small mokoro you will experience emotions that you will remember forever. after returning, you will feel that nostalgic aftermath called Mal d’Afrique.

Meeting with the guides at Maun airport and transfer to Kujwana Camp by land plus boat of about 4 hours (possibility of transfer by helicopter to enjoy the fantastic view. 25 minutes). Upon request, it is also possible to have a transfer from Kasane or Pom Pom airstrip or other nearby destinations such as Livingstone or Victoria Falls). Weather permitting, in the afternoon horse safari of about 2 hours. Overnight at the camp in full board.
The first horseback safari in the morning will be in the Xudum area, where, depending on the seasons, large areas of shoals densely populated by herbivores, giraffes, gazelles and an incredible amount of birds are created. lunch at the camp, 4X4 safari at sunset and night safari. Whole morning on horseback to discover the Baobab Island and its surroundings. This area is home to many large mammals, such as hippos immersed in deep lagoons and buffaloes. You will learn to observe and recognize the tracks of various animals, discovering the passage of 1000 different hooves. In the afternoon you will board the traditional canoes, Mokoro. Overnight at the camp in full board.
Safari in 4X4 until you arrive at Mokolwane Camp about 30 km north-west crossing immense spaces part of the Matsebe nature reserve. Picnic in the shade of the trees for lunch. Arrival at the camp for the sunset. Overnight at the camp in full board.
Safari on foot in the early morning to explore the area from another perspective. Lunch at the camp and horseback safari in the afternoon along the Matsibe River, the banks rich in vegetation offer a delicious food especially for elephants and baboons. Overnight at the camp in full board.
Full morning on horseback to discover the whole area west of the camp. Return to have lunch on the terrace overlooking the river where you can admire the animals that come to drink. Overnight at the camp in full board.
Full day on horseback to retrace the stretch towards Kijwana Camp. Picnic lunch and siesta under the trees (camp beds available) with an observation point on the watering pools. Arrival at the camp for sunset time. Overnight at the camp in full board.
After a full day of horseback safari and picnic lunch, we will arrive at the beautiful setting of the mobile camp: sleeping bags and camp beds wrapped in delicate mosquito nets. Everyone around the fire will hear incredible stories under a starry sky that no words can describe. Overnight at the camp in full board.
Immediately after breakfast on horseback safari, return for lunch . you will have an afternoon to relax with the possibility of swimming in the waters of the Okavango. Sunset aperitif in the bush and electrifying night safari before a second night under the stars. Overnight at the camp in full board.
Horse safari of about 4 hours, refreshment break and picnic in the shade of the trees. Return to Kujwana Camp at sunset. Overnight at the camp in full board.
If your return flight allows it, I will do another short horseback safari early in the morning before check out and transfer to the airport.

SISTEMAZIONE:
Il Kiwana Camp offre poche spaziose tende con servizi, deliziosamente arredate in perfetto Old English Style. Offre inoltre una piscina, punto per ricaricare cellulari etc, wi fi, bar, libreria, lavanderia. Il Mokolwane Camp ha dei bellissimi bungalow con servizi privati, costruiti sugli alberi. Il campo mobile offre un’esperienza selvaggia: sacchi a pelo con lenzuola di cotone ed una magnifica vista al cielo stellato. Non esistono servizi ne’ docce. Per chi lo desiderasse sono a disposizione le tende canadesi. Tutti i pasti sono inclusi, il pranzo è a pic-nic mentre la cena di tre portate è a lume di candela. Le bevande analcoliche, the e caffè sono inclusi, cosi come vino, birra e alcuni super alcolici locali.
