South: Patagonian Glaciers 2021
This exciting adventure begins in a typical Argentine Estancia, in the pristine Los Glacieres National Park, which extends over an area of over 12,000 hectares up to the border with Chile. Exploring this area on horseback is a unique privilege: the forest of the Andes, lakes with crystal clear water, the bluest sky you have ever seen and a breathtaking view of the almost unexplored glaciers of Frias, Gorra, and Dickson.
Shared guaranteed departure dates, minimum 1 person departing from Italy
Further dates on request from NOVEMBER to MARCH. Stays at the estancia available from September to May

Transfer independently from the airport to the center of the town of El Calafate. From the central office of the estancia there will be a pick-up at 16.30 and transfer of about 1 hour and a half to Estancia Nibepo Aike. (You can request a transfer at other times with a supplement). Dinner and overnight.
Day dedicated to explaining and preparing the horses for an early start the next day. Free time to explore the surroundings on foot or by bicycle. You can decide to go out on horseback for one hour in the morning and two hours in the afternoon and to participate in the various activities offered: such as milking cows or shearing sheep. Overnight in the estancia.
In the saddle to begin the ascent of the Cordon de los Cristales mountain, with stunning views of the surrounding lakes such as Brazo Rico, Lago Roca and Cerro Frias. We will notice the typical vegetation of Patagonia and we will follow the tracks used to move herds and flocks, until we arrive at the post called La Rosada in time for lunch. This small shelter, built in the early 1920s, is still used today by the gauchos to control grazing cattle. Extremely Spartan heated with a small wood stove, it has neither electricity nor water. In the afternoon we will go to the border with Chile, symbolically delimited by a fence and a sign, the south of the south. Overnight in La Rosada.
We will leave the dense bush to arrive in the wide Rio Cachorro valley, along which we will descend to the bed of the Cachorro river. We will begin to see the beginning of the glacier to continue to Laguna 3 de Avril. We will then arrive at the outpost of the same name where we will spend the night, warmed by the glow of the lanterns. The name comes from the founding date of the main estancia.
After having breakfast we will leave the camp to go to the shore of Lake Argentino and get closer to the glaciers. Upon request (payment on site), it is possible to organize a boat from the lodge to visit the hidden glaciers: Frias, Dickson and Gorra, a unique place where only a few people have arrived. A combination of navigation and trekking in the forest up to the three glaciers. Overnight in Puesta Laguna.
Return to the estancia along the southern arm of Lake Argentino. I arrive in time for lunch, for one last great barbecue. Transfer to the office in the city of El Calafate at 2.30pm. Self-service transfer to the airport. (at different times on request for a fee). It is possible to continue your stay and visit the famous Perito Moreno.
