The itinerary starts in Madaba, a Christian city with an ancient history. Afterwards, set off for Petra and enjoy a full day dedicated to visiting ancient Nabataeans.
Continue the excursion on horseback in the direction of the archaeological site known as ‘Little Petra’. From here, you will ride for three days until you reach the Wadi Rum desert, undoubtedly one of the most fascinating in the world for its variety of colours and landscapes. Also a destination for film tourism, it is known as the Valley of the Moon, because it was the film setting for Ridley Scott’s famous film ‘The Martian’. In prehistoric times it was part of the seabed, today you can see the valleys and canyons of granite rock carved by water over the centuries. Declared a UNESCO heritage site, it is famous for being the desert of Lawrence of Arabia, the famous archaeologist and writer. His book ‘The Seven Pillars of Wisdom’ gave its name to one of the most characteristic rock formations here.
A perfect itinerary for those who love wide open spaces, quietness and for those who can cope with several hours on horseback in the heat of the desert.
During the evenings, relax under the starry sky of Wadi Rum while the fire and the scent of hookah cheer you up.
The journey ends via Aqaba, on the gulf dividing Egypt and Saudi Arabia, world famous for its therapeutic properties.

Pick-up from the Queen Alia International Airport (AMM) in Amman and transfer to the hotel in Madaba, in the central area of this Christian-oriented city (guided city tour on request at extra charge). Dinner (by 10 pm) and overnight stay in a double room at Hotel Aitch (or similar).
Breakfast at the hotel, pick-up at 8 a.m. and transfer of about 2½ hours to Petra, where the whole day will be devoted to visiting ancient Nabataeans. Guided tour in the morning through the Siq and the ruins, the fascinating UNESCO heritage site. Free lunch and afternoon at leisure to relax or discover Petra on your own. Dinner in the company of the equestrian guide to explain the programme, overnight at the Petra Palace hotel (or similar).
Departure at approximately 09.00 hrs and a 20-minute transfer to the meeting point with the horses. Riding through the valleys that surround Petra and take us to the edge of another archaeological site known as 'Little Petra'. Stop for lunch and visit the site on foot. Dinner and overnight stay in a comfort tented camp, Seven Wonder Camp (or similar).
We leave Petra today and over the next two days we will ride along ancient spice routes through valleys and mountains, which in ancient times were used to reach Palestine. Overnight stays in bivouacs.
We ride through Bier Hamad. The mountain breeze and sandy terrain allow us to gallop along. We notice that gradually the landscape begins to change, becoming more and more desert-like. We arrive in the afternoon near the gates of the desert. Night in the bivouac.
We will ride in a south-easterly direction passing through an area called 'mud flats' where we can enjoy long gallops. We will pass through the Bedouin village of Disi and then stop for lunch in the cool shade of a mountain. In the afternoon we will enter the protected area of Wadi Rum, in the Um Ishirin valley where the famous film "Lawrence of Arabia" was filmed. Overnight in a bivouac.
We go deeper and deeper into the desert, passing the red dunes of the Anafishia Valley and the ruins of Lawrence of Arabia's house. Then Barrah Canyon again. Our riding adventure will end by lunchtime, after which we will be transferred by vehicle to Aqaba on the Red Sea. Dinner and overnight at Lacosta Hotel (or similar).
Breakfast and transfer of approximately 2 hours to the Dead Sea. Here we will enjoy some relaxation and lunch at the 5* Holiday Inn Hotel. In the afternoon, transfer to Madaba for approximately one and a half hours. Dinner in a typical restaurant and overnight stay at the Hotel Aitch (or similar).
After breakfast transfer to the airport in time for the flight to Italy.
