Pick-up at Hosea Kutako International Airport and transfer to River Crossing Lodge where we will meet the rest of the group. During dinner, the journey will be illustrated.
Transfer to the place where the horses await us (approximately 4 hours) and the beginning of the Namibian Desert with spectacular views of the Naukluft mountains. In the afternoon the excursion will be in this area of Sossusvlei and its immense sand dunes that reach up to 300 meters. Return to the camp for a traditional dinner of typical dishes.
Our riding adventure through oasis and sand begins today. The camp will be set up in the hills that precede the majestic Naukluft mountains, the nearby waterholes often attract many zebras, kudus and oryxes during the night.
Our adventure in untouched nature continues with long gallops every time the valleys clear. Camp set up near an isolated farm.
We will cross some reddish sand dunes before entering a canyon where we will stop in the shade for lunch. Continuing, at the end of the day we will be able to see the Kuiseb River in the distance.
We'll head towards the riverbed, where the terrain gets very technical at times. Camp set up above the river near a tangle of trees.
on the saddle towards Ganab, a watering point for mountain zebras, oryxes, ostriches and even desert giraffes, which we will have the opportunity to see and maybe even approach, with a little luck. Overnight at the camp.
Another day full of adventures to the watering point of Hotsas, crossing the valleys of Tinkas and Tumas, less and less rich in vegetation as we get closer to the coast. This is the area where they start
the fogs appear, whose constant humidity exceeds the humidity given by precipitation by 5 times.
Today we will go from an arid landscape to a real desert, where we will see the characteristic ghostly trees, the Welwitschia Mirablis, appear. This is a very ancient place, of great charm but also of great solitude. Passing through the Moon Valley, we will arrive at our camp, near the Swakop River.
We will finally arrive at the Atlantic Ocean and the first contact with civilization for days now. We will ride on Swakopmund beach before relaxing for the last dinner and a relaxing night in the lodge.
Breakfast and transfer to Windhoek (approximately 4 hours). Schedule a return flight no earlier than 3.00 pm. For those wishing to avoid the transfer by public transport we suggest a flight from Walvis Bay.
For those wishing to extend their stay by a few days we can suggest some activities in Swakopmund (dolphin cruise, sand boarding, parachute jump, quad bike tour of the desert), or a visit to the Etosha National Park.
