The Icelandic Glaciers 2021
A mystical land, forged by the elements where the power of Nature is perceived. A scenario created over the centuries by the volcanic eruptions of Hekla: black sand ground dotted with emerald blades of grass. Following in the footsteps of legendary Vikings, immersed in a majestic nature, you will be the protagonists of a journey that will remain in your memory for a lifetime.

Arrange for an autonomous transfer from the airport to the capital. The meeting with the guides will take place between 5.30 pm and 6.00 pm (at the bus station or the hotel for those arriving the day before). Transfer to Vellir, cognitive dinner and overnight stay in a guest house.
Short walk to get familiar with the horses. Lunch and in the afternoon by bus we will go to the slopes of the Hekla volcano, in the beautiful area of Landssveit. Departure on horseback in a north-easterly direction, up to the cottage where we will stay for the night.
We will cross the Vestri-Ranga River and then continue towards the lava fields created centuries ago by the Hekla eruptions until we reach the Foss mountains, south of the volcano. Dinner and overnight.
Day dedicated to the discovery of the surroundings, among scenic valleys, grassy plains and caves Lunch and in the afternoon we will explore the volcanic mountains of Hafrafell.
Today we will explore the area west of the volcano and all the farms at its base. Incredible views, where the force of nature is palpable at all times. Dinner and overnight in the cottage.
We will cross Iceland's longest river where we will see Thieves waterfalls. Last hours between forests and lava fields to return to the starting point. In the afternoon, transfer by public transport to Reykjavik.

HORSES: ICELANDIANS, this strong horse is the original “Viking”, its existence has been known since the 19th century and its collaboration has allowed humans to settle in this territory. Breed with peculiar characteristics, such as its half stature, the long and thick mane and its particular “ambiata” gait, very fast. This horse despite having a wild spirit, also given by still living in the wild today, is able to establish a friendship and complicity with its rider, unique in the world.
GAIT: 4 to 8 hours in the saddle. Moderate gaits with long trots (amble). You will experience the unique experience of riding accompanied by the herd.
TYPE : itinerant with overnight stay in cottage (with sleeping bag)
ACCOMMODATION:
3 nights in a guest house / hotel + 2 nights in a cottage or shelter (everyone must bring their own sleeping bag).
