The tracks of the Te Kiri Warriors 2021
Come and discover the beauties of the region north of North Island: a popular destination for tourists for its wonderfull weather, forests and hundreds of kilometers of unspoiled coastline. You will have the privilege of galloping for miles on the endless white sand beaches and walking the ancient tracks of the Maori warriors. A perfect combination of adventure, traditional Kiwi hospitality and the mystery of the ancestral traditions of warriors.

Self-service transfer from the airport to Wellsford station. Pick-up from the station at 9.00 am and transfer of about an hour and a half to the beautiful farm managed by a family of direct descendants of Te Kiri, chief of the Ngati Wai tribe. In the afternoon, a couple of hours on the saddle on the beautiful beach. Dinner and overnight at the farm.
After having breakfast, departure around 10 am for a day on horseback that will begin on the beautiful white sand beach, famous for surfing, where with a little luck we will be able to see schools of dolphins jumping in and out of the waves. We will continue through a pine forest, along a track that in ancient times was traveled by the famous warrior Tau Kokopu. Lunch on the shores of Lake Tomarata and a refreshing dip, and then continue to the Te Arai viewpoint to observe the islands of Te Moana nui or Toi or tuatahi, Hauturu, Aotea, Mokohinau and Taranga. Dinner and overnight in a chalet with a wonderful view of the lake.
Full day riding on the wonderful Te Arai beach, Pakiri and lush forests. Dinner and overnight on the farm.
From the beach we will go up to Pa, the ancient fortress of Te Kiri, to Maori Marae at Leight from which you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the Pacific. We will then descend to the small fishing village of Leight and from there we will continue to Omaha Marae, a farm still managed in a traditional way. As per tradition, you will all sleep together on mattresses placed on the floor, and you will have the opportunity to talk to the locals and learn about interesting traditions. If the group is small, stay overnight in the cottage.
After having breakfast, we will return to our starting point, making a stop for lunch at the fortress of Te Kiri. We will descend through forests and sand dunes and we will launch once we reach the beach in exhilarating gallops. Return to the farm to cool off with a drink and departure, drop off at Wellsford station for 4.00 pm. It is possible to request a support night at the farm (extra).

The farm is an authentic structure managed by local owners; surrounded by 2,000 acres of hilly terrain in the south of the Northland region, it raises a variety of cattle. It is located one and a half hours from Auckland city to the beautiful Pakiri beach. Overnight in delightful sea view chalets.
