Turkey: Cappadocia on the saddle 2021
A week dedicated to the discovery of Cappadocia, a land of a thousand geological wonders. The result of a series of volcanic eruptions over time, this region is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In six days we will ride 120 km from the south to the incredible valleys of the north, in a fantastic succession of rock formations, canyons, plateaus and valleys. We will discover the warm Turkish hospitality and the typical Anatolian lifestyle.

Arrival at Kayseri airport, pick-up between 6.00 and 22.30 and transfer to the ranch which is located about 50 minutes in the center of the region. Dinner with your guide and overnight.
After having breakfast, transfer to the ranch where the horses will be assigned to you. The beginning of our adventure will be on the Avlak mountains, which we will climb in order to enjoy an incredible view of Cappadocia. Picnic lunch in the cool of a canyon and in the afternoon we will ride through the hills surrounding Lake Damsa, the ancient village of Mustafapasa. Here dinner and overnight in a typical guesthouse.
In the saddle and on top of the San Nicholas hill, towards the southern part of the region: rock formations, vineyards and valleys. Visit the underground village of Golgol and the village of Ayvali. Lunch in a typical restaurant carved into the rock. In the afternoon return to Mustafapasa through ever-changing landscapes: underground village of Kirkule, canyon of Sorkumlu. Dinner and overnight at the Mustafapasa guesthouse.
The morning includes about three and a half hours in the saddle up to Ibrahimpasa, from where we will begin to climb up to the fortress of Uchisar. View of the famous Pigeon Valley and lunch on a panoramic terrace. In the afternoon free time to visit the picturesque villages of Uchisar and Goreme, where you can visit the open-air museum and other sites. Visit to the underground city on request (extra). Dinner and overnight at the Guesthouse.
Possibility to take a hot air balloon flight (extra) early in the morning to enjoy the colors of the sunrise and admire the most beautiful rock formations in Cappadocia: the Green Valley canyon, Love Valley, Sword Valley and Red Valley. Lunch in a room housed in an ancient monastery and then continuing on horseback to explore the Red and Rose Valley in the north. Return for dinner and overnight in Uchisar.
Another chance to take a hot air balloon flight to fly over the White Valley, Cavusin village and the rock formations of Pasabagi and Zelve. Lunch in a small family-run restaurant. Afternoon in the saddle riding through the Avanos and Urgup valley where you can enjoy long trots and gallops. Arrival in the afternoon at the ancient village of Ortahisar where we will spend dinner and overnight stay. (on request and with free transfer it is possible to go to the Urgup Turkish bath - for a fee).
Riding through the multicolored Pancarlik valley and the sandy tracks that will lead us to Taslik. Picnic lunch in the shade of a canyon. In the afternoon, Gumuslu valley and Tahtali canyon. Return to the ranch in the early afternoon where we will greet the horses. Return to the guesthouse in Ortahisar or free transfer to a Turkish bath in Urgup (extra). Dinner and overnight in a guesthouse.
Breakfast and transfer to the airport around 7.30 am, in time for your flight.

16/08 : ITALIA/KAYSERI/ ORTAHISAR (-/-/D)
After having breakfast, morning dedicated to the discovery of the farm and its surroundings.
After having lunch, first walk for a couple of hours in the surrounding area to familiarize yourself with the horses.
Dinner and overnight on the farm.
18/08: ORTAHISAR (B/L/D)
Today we will discover all the activities that take place on a farm and an introduction to horsemanship.
For lunch we will be in Mustafapasa and in the afternoon returning we will cross the scenic Gomeda valley.

19/08: ORTAHISAR /UCHISAR (B/L/D)
Morning on the saddle for about two hours to discover the Yatak and Tartale valleys. Lunch in Uzumlu Kilise and in the afternoon the riders will be able
to venture on foot in the valley of the roses.
Transfer by public transport in the afternoon for dinner and overnight in a Guesthouse in Uchisar.
20/08: UCHISAR (B/L/D)
In the morning 3 hours in the green valley and arrival in the famous Goreme for lunch. In the afternoon visit to the open-air museum of Goreme. Return for dinner and overnight in Uchisar.
21/08: UCHISAR/ORTAHISAR (B/L/D)
Morning in the White Valley.
Lunch in Cavusin and, in the afternoon ,return to the farm for a second "horsemanship" session.
22/08: ORTAHISAR (B/L/D)
Wake uo early in order to visit the Urgup market. Then we will be on the saddle to the colorfull valley of Pancarlik with a pic-nic lunch just under the canyon. in the eafternoon we will be back to the farm (there is also the possibility to go to hammam). Dinner and overnight stay.
23/08: ORTAHISAR /KAYSERI/ITALIA (B/-/-)
Breakfast and transfer to the Airport at 7.30 in time to take the flight.

SISTEMAZIONE:
Guest house: pernottamento in guest house, pittoresche e confortevoli, spesso ricavate dalle antiche casa scavate nelle grotte (quindi spesso senza finestre). Un’esperienza davvero unica di immersione nella cultura locale. Quasi tutte offrono servizio di lavanderia e connessione a internet.

CAVALLI: ARABI, per lo più femmine. Ben addestrati, vivaci ed obbedienti; abituati ai percorsi e terreni proposti. Vengono assegnati a seconda del livello equestre e del peso del cavaliere.
ANDATURA: DA 5 A 6 H AL GIORNO IN SELLA(tra i 25 ed i 40 km al giorno). Si procede alle tre andature; si richiede la capacità di saper controllare il cavallo negli spazi aperti e una buona condizione fisica. I partecipanti dovranno essere in grado di salire e scendere da cavallo in autonomia più volte al giorno. Potrà capitare di dover condurre il cavallo a mano per agevolarlo su terreni complessi.
