CREA IL TUO VIAGGIO TROVA AGENZIAThe Limpopo Region: South Africa & Botswana 2021
The dream of a lifetime, the boundless savannah .we will discover the Limpopo region, which stretches between the north of South Africa and the south of Botswana. Here the real Africa begins to reveal itself, a land at times rich and at times merciless, with its scarce pools of water, dotted with bristly vegetation, which gives shelter and food to its inhabitants. The Limpopo valley takes its name from the river of the same name, dry for most of the year but which can reveal great surprises during the rainy season when everything is reborn. Poignant sunsets await you and as the evening falls, the swarming around your tents will make you dream and tremble under the starry sky.
Departure dates available on request all year round with a minimum of 1 person departing from Italy.
Start on Friday.
PARTICIPANTS: MIN 2 MAX 8
Pick-up at the airport and transfer at h. 10.30 am at Camp Davidson which is about 300 km away (about 2.5 hours), and which is located in the Limpopo province, in the Waterberg area, within a private reserve. Lunch and in the afternoon the first horse safari for a couple of hours. Dinner and overnight in a tented camp.
There are two horse rides per day, at 8.30 for about 3 hours and at 17.00 for about 1.5 hours. The beautiful private reserve, also dedicated to cattle breeding, offers the opportunity to spot wildlife on horseback without the risk of meeting the "big 5", not present on the estate. You will meet many antelopes, zebras, ostriches, small mammals, hippos and eagles. You can also carry out other activities on horseback: polo cross, a very entertaining local discipline, show jumping in riding stables and cross, swimming with horses in the lake in front of the lodge. Meals and overnight stay in a tented camp.
Breakfast and transfer at h. 9.30 by land of about 4 hours to Botswana. Once the customs formalities have been completed, we will quickly arrive at the stables, where you will meet the horses that will accompany you to discover the beautiful Limpopo valley, specifically in this area called Tuli, which includes the Mashatsu private reserve and neighboring villages. After a quick lunch and breefing, all in the saddle for a first horseback safari that will take us to the tented camp. Dinner and overnight at the tented camp.
Wake up at 5.30 to be on horseback very early and have a chance to spot wildlife before it lurks from the heat. This almost desert-like reserve can vary greatly during the rainy season where it is covered with green grass and flowers. In the morning we will go on a long horse safari of about 5/6 hours and return to the camp for lunch. After a well-deserved rest, in the afternoon they will go on safari on foot or by jeep in search of the felines.
Breakfast and ground transfer to Johannesburg airport lasting approximately 6 hours with expected arrival around h. 18.00 (alternatively departure in the afternoon by charter flight directly from the reserve to Johannesburg airport - arrival always around 18.00).
